Perth Information

Perth the capital city of Western Australia is situated on the magnificent Swan River and home to 1.38 million people that enjoys more hours of sunshine than any other capital city in Australia. It is
adored for its brilliant blue skies, warm sunny climate and white sandy beaches.
Brigadoon is located in the beautiful Swan Valley, which is approximately 30 kilometres from the City of Perth. The grounds are located 3 kilometres from the Great Northern Highway and 5
kilometres from 24 hour service stations, local supermarket, and liquor store. A quality stockfeed supplier is only 3 kilometres drive from the grounds. The domestic and international airports are approximately 25 kilometres drive.

The Perth Polocrosse grounds are situated just off the Great Northern Highway, which is an ideal location for travellers coming from the north, south or east. The Margaret River region is just over 2-½ hours drive south of the grounds. Four hours drive south west of the grounds to the historic town of Albany or four hours drive north will have you at the Batavia coast, Geraldton.

Tourist Attractions

The Swan Valley is Western Australia's oldest wine growing region and home to the Equestrian Federation of Australia - WA branch and the State Equestrian Centre. The Swan Valley is the closest wine region to a CBD in the southern hemisphere, with more than 40 wineries and 30 plus restaurants. Cultural attractions, picnic spots, the food and wine trial and family attractions including Caversham Wildlife Park, Whiteman Park and the Gumnut Factory as well as micro breweries and chocolate factory.
West Swan, Henley Brook and surrounding regions are bustling tourist areas especially in spring. Many award winning wineries offer alfresco and restaurant meals as well as cellar door tastings. There is an abundance of restaurants, convention and function centres that cater for up to 5,000 people. These are all few minutes from the polocrosse grounds.
For accommodation, the Swan Valley offers self contained chalets, bed and breakfasts, caravan parks, boutique guest houses and a four and a half star resort with an international 36 hole golf course less than five minutes from the grounds.
Activities and destinations which are very popular and a credit to our Perth community are the Royal Agricultural Show, Spring in the Valley, Historic Guildford tours, Whiteman Park, Rottnest Island, Burswood Casino, Fremantle, the Margaret River Chocolate Factory (West Swan), the Swan Valley Cheese factory, the Maze, Micro breweries and the Perth Zoo. Other interesting and relaxing attractions include the markets, arts and craft workshops and displays, museums, wildlife parks, Kings Park, Adventure World, River cruises, Hothem Valley Railway, Rottnest Island, Penguin Island, Belmont & Ascot race courses to name a few.

Public Transport

The venue is close to bus services that connect at Midland to buses and trains servicing the greater metropolitan and country areas. There is a proposed rail link for the Swan Valley to join up to the Midland line that will create a faster and more direct travel option into Perth city.
